Tell us a little bit about yourself:
My name is Alexane Escot. I was born in New Caledonia and moved to Australia in 2002 with my family. During my school age years I was heavily involved in rowing and competed at a state and national level. It was not until my later school years that I was diagnosed with severe scoliosis and it was here, through what some might say misfortune, I developed my passion for helping people in the field of physiotherapy. I graduated from Bond University in 2014 with a Bachelor in Exercise Science and Doctor of Physiotherapy degree. I am a physiotherapist, a trained clinical pilates instructor and qualified acupuncture dry needle therapist.
As a physiotherapist I have developed a special interest in scoliosis management after undergoing scoliosis surgery and identifying a huge gap in the conservative management for scoliosis in Australia. I travelled to Spain in February 2017 to obtain my first Schroth qualification with Dr Manual Rigo, founder of the Barcelona Scoliosis Physical Therapy School. I am dedicated to using my knowledge and personal experience to support clients with scoliosis and help them reach their personal goals.
I have always enjoyed being physically active and in my free time I enjoy cooking, pilates, spending time with my family and walking my beautiful golden retriever; Chanel.
